Newly furnished La Strada

Decided to try out La Strada after its been renovated. I'd say the new feel makes it a little less homey but more classy? But the food is still as good as I remember it to be (: Glad that's still the same! The menu is, based on my memory, different from what it used to be, but I cant find the menu online at their website. Dont fret La Strada Carbonara lovers cos its obviously still on the menu (:

Bread!

Would have liked it if it were a tad warmer? But crusty sides and slight tinge of rosemary (I suppose) made it quite a good dipping bread w olive oil & balsamic vinegar! Like that they alr provide this and I dont have to ask them for it like most restaurants! (:

Current layout

Linguini Marinara $28
Mixed seafood, cherry tomatoes, bottarga roe (I think)

The sauce made the linguine very very slurp-worthy!!! I normally dont finish carbs but I finished all of the pasta this time 'cos it was just so yummy with the sauce! And it was topped with a GENEROUS amount of seafood! Baby mussels, scallops, clams, squid (big peces), prawns. Really a good dish to order if you're in the mood for something tomato based and is light! Really loved my dish. Of course it was seasoned with herbs and stuff which made the sauce all the more tasty hehe. 4.7/5

Carbonara $26
Hand cut chittara with crispy parma ham, egg confit, shaved parmigiana and truffle sauce

Out of 4 of us, 3 ordered this. 1 cos she has eaten this before and loved it, the oth 2 cos we both who'd eaten here both recommended this to them! And all 3 were v happy and satisfied with the yummy carbonara (: They particularly loved the ham, and were v excited about the egg! Its like a poached egg so you can either burst the egg and mix it w the noodles or slurp the yolk into your mouth haha. Best carbonara to date IMO and a MUST-TRY! 5/5

Tarte au citron $11 (I think)
Caramelized lemon tart with vanilla gelato

Crust was crispy and quite hard, a little thick in some parts though. Curd wasnt too sweet nor too tart, wasnt particularly nice either? Quite average. Vanilla gelato was quite nice 'cos of the crumble below it (nuts) and vanilla specks just make me happy (: 4/5

Tiramisu $11 (I think)

Thought presentation was a little uh...? Like not professional? But the friend said this was good and was smiling so I assume its nice (: Looks well soaked to me! 4/5

Service, like what I'd expect of a Les Amis restaurant, was good and professional. They patiently waited for our fried to come without disturbing us and our food was served quite quickly and pipppppping hot (: If you dont know where to eat in Orchard Road (which constantly happens to me) and would like good quality Italian at wallent-friendly prices, I say La Strada!
